To be eligible for an AFFORDABLE UNIT, a household must meet the following criteria at the time of occupancy:
at least one member must be 16 years of age or older and able to live independently;
all household members must be Canadian citizens, permanent residents (or applicants), or refugee claimants/Convention refugees;
the total household income must not exceed four times the annualized rent (calculated as monthly occupancy cost × 4 × 12);
households must not have arrears with a social housing provider (unless in good standing under a repayment plan);
must not own a home suitable for year-round occupancy;
must not be subject to an enforceable removal order.
